There is no doubt that New Smyrna Beach is full of charm, rich in history and bursting with activity. Yet, during the holidays, this remarkable city transforms into something even more special. Carolers stroll streets that are aglow with sparkling lights. There are holiday shows, tours and parades by land and by sea. That’s New Smyrna Beach during the holidays…a spectacularly magical time of year.
Thinking of taking the kids or grandkids to see Santa? No worries, there are Santa appearances throughout December in Christmas Park. If Christmas performances are more your thing, take a trip to The Little Theatre in New Smyrna Beach for live performances of a variety of holiday shows any time throughout the season.
New Smyrna Beach is certainly not lacking in festive spirit, as evidenced by its holiday parade tradition. Our traditional New Smyrna Beach Christmas Parade fills the streets with marching bands, dance troupes, horses and floats decorated for the holidays. If you enjoy parades, you also won’t want to miss the annual New Smyrna Beach Boat Parade, where boats glide through the waterways adorned with Christmas lights and decorated for the season.
Holiday tours throughout the historic district add to the merriment, and our “Lighting up Flagler” event is a sight to see! Thousands of sparkling lights illuminate Flagler Avenue, storefronts are beautifully decorated, carolers croon and holiday refreshments are served. If that wasn’t enough, there are also live holiday performances and special holiday discounts and sales. “Last Night, First Day at the Beach” is also a terrific time. It’s a series of events from the day after Christmas until the first of the year. There’s everything from a citywide music festival, to sidewalk sales, fireworks and more. Then guests can take in the New Year’s Eve Fireworks on Flagler, followed by celebrations at eight different locations.
Visit New Smyrna Beach during the holidays, and you will make memories to last a lifetime.
